Cousin Frank and Family


My 1st cousin 2x removed Frank Hopwood was born in Oldham, Lancashire, England on 20 March 1871, his father, Thomas, was 43 and his mother, Sarah, was 34. His brother Thomas died in 1874 in Oldham, Lancashire, when Frank was 3 years old. His father Thomas died in 1875 in Stockport, Cheshire, at the age of 47. His brother Walter died in April 1898 and another brother Arthur also died in 1898 when Frank was 27 years old. His mother, Sarah Ann died on 10 December 1900 in Stalybridge, Cheshire, at the age of 63. His sister Mary Matilda died in Cheshire, in April 1913 when Frank was 42 years old.

He had three sons and one daughter with Annie Elizabeth Withington between 1903 and 1913. Norman Withington was born in 1903; Norah Withington was born in July 1904 in Lancashire, Lancashire; Dennis Withington was born in October 1906 in Stockport, Cheshire.

James Withington was born in 1913 in Saskatchewan, Canada

Frank served in the military in 1915 when he was 44 years old.

The family finally settled in Vancouver, BC Canada

Frank died on 24 March 1941 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, at the age of 70.
